22 May Dance for Life – British Red Cross
I was fortunate to be part of the Dance for Life event at the Bhavan Theatre yesterday with my dance group from the London School of Chinese Dance.
Dance for Life brings together primary, secondary and special schools, dance groups and youth groups in a celebration of youth dance. It’s the competition for children under 18s. The event is also about fundraising, our Chinese Dance School won the best effort in fundraising woohoo!!All the choreographies in yesterday event had to reflect an aspect of Red Cross’ work. The children dance group from our dance school also took place in the competition.
Our group took part in the show as a guest performance. Our choreography illustrates what happened in Sichuan earthquake… Sichuan was a beautiful, green land where things were peaceful until the earthquake. Connie, our headmaster acted as a ghost who brought the disaster to the land. With the help of British Red Cross (Dancers in red costumes), the land has slowly recovered from the disaster…

Can you see that happy smile on my face?
I love love love the feeling of being on stage… It is indescribable! That feeling of utmost happiness… That feeling of wanting to be there and … to perform…
During the practice, I fell once or twice… But I knew, me and Kayan would be able to pull it off… and we were successful in this lifting “move” 🙂
The ghost that brought disaster to the green land..
The fight between the ghost and the Red Cross
