13 Jun Paris….
My mom is visiting in … less than a month!! I will take her to Paris again… Can’t believe its nearly been two years since I went to Paris.
Viet and I went to Paris on a rather … special day, 2009 New Year’s Eve…
As soon as we arrived, we went straight from the station to Notre Dame. With luggage still in the car’s boot, we strolled along the Seine beside the cathedral, capturing one of the best view angle of this architectural masterpiece.
As soon as we reached the front, we were greeted by a massive queue, and for that we had to leave the inside for another visit. It was still, however, a very special feeling being able to come face to face with Notre Dame Cathedral within minutes of setting foot in France for the first time. The sentiment was somewhat hard to describe, a bit of awe mixed with excitement, and of course, a pinch of regret for the inability to walk in through those doors to see the very place in which Napoleon I became the Emperor…
When you visit Paris on such special occasion like we did, you should expect all the famous sight-seeings to be closed… So we kinda expected it when we visited the Pantheon… We were so lucky as my aunt’s husband was really knowledgeable, he talked us through history when we were at the Pantheon…
We then went back to my auntie’s house… had a good meal before heading out to celebrate New Year!!!!
The Eiffel Tower couldn’t be more beautiful!!
We tried to blend in the crowd… but….. I COULDN’T BREATH!!! haha The atmosphere was crazy though!!
So we decided to walk to a quiet street with a better view of the Eiffel Tower… We were in such a rush!!! I wanted to set up the camera before the NEW YEAR FIREWORKS!!!
Arc de Triomphe – First moments of 2010..
Paris was cold… but yet so warm…
The next morning, we walked around the China/Vietnam Town in Paris
Eiffel Tower in the day light….
Laduree!!!!!! It was freezing cold… I couldn’t feel my hands and feet…
but I had to queue for those delicious macaroons!!…. The queue was long… long… long…. and it was…. cold…. cold… SUPER COLD!!!!
but… it’s worth it at the end….
Walking up the Montmartre… to look for that place…. “Moulin Rouge”….
Even though it was cold, we enjoyed the walk very much… We were very much captivated by Paris’ night charm…
Street light…
romantic music from afar…
….. and each other….
There we were….
“The greatest thing you’ll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return….”
The Palais Garnier — was also closed :((

A Hanoian in Paris….
Look at the queue for the Louvre!!
Montmartre!!!!!
Where you can find all the street artists…. Salvador Dali, Pablo Picasso, Vincent Van Goh love this place….
Montmartre was also the setting of the film La Mome (La vie en rose) which elaborates on the life of famous French singer Edit Piaf….
When we reached Sacre Coeur… one street musician was playing Lavie en rose on the harp…
All I could remember…
…that moment was … MAGICAL…
