18 Jan Black Turtle Neck – My best friend this winter
Yes – this one timeless piece that goes with everything and anything in my closet!
To be able to get out of the house these days with two kids, and be on time is an achievement itself (!!). I found myself often reaching to a black turtle neck the past few cold months and I am quite sure that would apply to all the cold ones ahead as well. This basic but versatile item will be in most outfits I plan when time is a luxury.
Wear it with denim
Below I paired it with jeans and denim jacket to one of Tigo’s doctor check ups! (We made so many hospital/GP/paediatrician check ups at the end of last year, thanks god it’s all over now… touch woods!).

Wear it with a knit sweater
Here it acts as a layering piece below my favourite white knit sweater and leather jogger pants for one of those sugar-craving evenings! By the way, we have found THE best ice cream shop which ticks everything! Wonderfully delicious ice cream, a wide variety of chocolate selections and what’s more, it opens until 9pm on a Sunday. Nothing special (for desserts) around our house opens that late apart from Westfield …

Wear it with bold colours
The easiest way to look chic, just throw over your black turtle neck with a bold colour coat and voila! you have an outfit. I received a lot of compliments when wearing this combo: Black Turtle Neck with fuschia pink coat and studded belt! Who says winter fashion has to be boring and grey like the sky above?

Wear it with culottes
Loving culottes at the moment after a period of wearing skinny jeans all the time! It looks professional enough and so much more comfortable than a tailored fitted trousers. I was always worried that having a second child would less time for my first son, while it may be true in some senses, I have found that I am available more to Dino and somehow a little less to Tigo because he does not know how to ask for attention yet. I can do drop off and pick up and be with him the whole time after school while in the past, his nanny did the pick up and bath time until I got home from work. Now I’m with them all the time, and how fortunate I feel, especially when they are not well and all they want is their mother. Last Christmas, we took both to Christmas Grotto at Royal Albert Hall and while Tigo has no clue what was going on, Dino had such a blast! How wonderful it is to see those innocent but contagious smile of his!

So yes, I have been stocking on good cashmere black turtlenecks as I wear it everyday now, when winter is still lingering for a little bit more.
Now that my son will soon, hopefully, be back to school (he was off for 5 weeks, then caught a virus so still staying home!) I look forwards to getting back to blogging a bit more frequently. It is always hard to resume a routine after a long period of holidays, I must say…
